Starting Our Journey in 2022
Our Mission
Founded in 2022, the DTOM FOUNDATION FOOD CENTRE is dedicated to combating malnutrition and promoting healthy living in underserved communities across South Africa. Named in honor of Dr. Themba Oscar Makhubele, a visionary leader committed to community health and development, our foundation focuses on creating sustainable solutions to food insecurity through education, empowerment, and direct intervention. We believe that access to proper nutrition is fundamental to breaking the cycle of poverty and enabling communities to thrive.
Food Nutrition Project
Our flagship program is designed to address malnutrition and food insecurity through a comprehensive three-pronged approach. We provide daily nutritious meals to children, establish sustainable community gardens, and deliver nutrition education to families. Starting from our headquarters in 2022, we are building the foundation for lasting change that empowers communities with the knowledge and resources for long-term food security.

Join Our Volunteer Team
We are building a team of dedicated volunteers to help us launch and grow our Food Nutrition Project. Whether you have a few hours a week or can commit to regular service, your skills and passion can make a real difference in building healthier communities.
Community Outreach
Help us connect with local communities, organize nutrition workshops, and spread awareness about healthy eating habits.
Garden & Food Preparation
Assist with community garden setup, food preparation, and meal distribution to ensure nutritious meals reach those in need.

Help with planning, coordination, communications, and other administrative tasks to support our growing foundation.
